Top Class in Glass: Profile 22 Building Centre CPD

Profile 22 will give a CPD seminar on window specification for the education sector as part of a series of events to mark the Building Centre’s 80th anniversary.

Opening its doors for the first time in 1932, the construction expo in Store Street London, is a centre for innovation, giving specifiers, architects and other industry professionals access to the latest in building product technologies.

As a specialist supplier of low maintenance building products and specification support to the education sector, Profile 22 will deliver a CPD on window and door specification on Thursday 3 May, as the Centre celebrates almost a century of development.

Andrew Reid, commercial development director, Profile 22 said: “Renewable technologies are fine but without investment in thermal efficiency, they will never deliver the carbon or financial savings that schools managers and LEAs are looking for. Schools need to consider energy efficiency first.

“After wall and roof insulation, windows and curtain walling exert the single biggest impact on the energy that a building will use yet with a raft of regulatory requirements, operational and health and safety issues to factor-in, their specification can be hugely complex.

“The seminar will guide specifiers through the process, highlighting the pitfalls but also the areas of opportunity.”

Offering  specifiers, LEAS and schools a comprehensive support programme from the very beginnings of the replacement process to project completion, Profile 22 supplies a range of thermally efficient and low maintenance products to the education sector.

This includes the advanced SK200 thermally broken aluminium system which delivers unparalleled thermal performance and weather tightness and is fully tested by the British Standards institute.

Profile 22 also offers a range of low maintenance and secure window systems, including triple-glazed options capable of achieving u-values as low as 0.8 W/m2K.

A dedicated specification guide, developed to support architects and specifiers find their way through the window and door specification process.

Also featuring straightforward information and support on the specification of curtain walling, the guide includes everything from the specification of hardware through to compliance with building regulations and energy efficiency.

Reid concluded: “PVC-U replacement windows can slash maintenance budgets delivering year-on-year savings, improve security and sound insulation – the benefits are immediately tangible.”

The Profile 22 window and door CPD specification seminar will be held at the Building Centre, Store Street, London 10.30am to 11.20am, Thursday May 3.

Registration is 20 minutes before the start of the event and booking is free. To reserve a place call, 02076926234 or email
