Epwin Group, and its autonomous businesses trading as SBP Ltd recognises that it has a responsibility to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of all employees and others who may be affected by our activities.
The health and safety of employees as well as members of the public is of great importance to the successful management and operation of this Company. In order to assist the Company in meeting this responsibility and in order to promote and ensure your welfare (as well as members of the public) the Company must rely upon each employee to adopt and maintain a responsible attitude in regard to themselves and well being of others.
The Company philosophy is that, irrespective of blame, all accidents are preventable and all risks can be contained. Consequently the company operates to a policy of zero accident involvement in the workplace, which, also extends to areas of operation beyond company premises and includes vehicles operated on the public highway.
In securing the implementation of this policy, Epwin Group will ensure that SBP Ltd, in so far as is reasonably practicable:
- Provision is made for the maintenance of plant and systems of work that are safe and without risk to health.
- Provision is made for ensuring the safety and absence of risks to health in connection with the manufacture, supply, use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances.
- All premises and places of work are safe and without risk to health, including the provision and maintenance of access to and egress from such places.
- Provision is made for the maintenance of a working environment that is safe, without risk to health, and adequate as regards facilities and arrangements for welfare at work.
- Provision is made for the communication of health and safety information, health and safety training: adequate supervision and such consultation as may be required.
The Epwin Group, Board of Directors accept full responsibility for ensuring that this policy is completed with and will ensure that a Divisional Director is appointed who will be accountable to the Board for the overall implementation of the Group Health and Safety Policy in the relevant company or division. A localised General Manager will ensure that the management organisation and arrangements for health and safety detailed in the Policy are applied to suit the identified needs in the company concerned, and that employees are made aware of Health and Safety issues as may be required within the terms of this Policy and the 'Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999’.
This policy will be reviewed regularly and appropriate changes will be amended if necessary.
