Epwin Group to Showcase Flagship BRE A+ 100 per cent Recycled Window at Greenbuild

The Epwin Group will showcase its award winning range of sustainable and low maintenance building products at Greenbuild Manchester.

Attending the show this year under a Group umbrella, Wrekin Windows, Permadoor and Swish Building Products will profile their extensive PVC-U building products ranges.

This will include RECO22 the Epwin Group’s new window profile, which manufactured solely from recycled material, uses just six per cent of CO2 in production compared to profile manufactured using virgin material.

Having won national recognition as winner of the Best Recycled Product 2009, the system secured a dedicated A+ rating across all domestic applications from the Building Research Establishment in February this year.

This is a first and to date the only award of a dedicated A+ BRE rating for any window system in any material type. The system also boasts its own listing in the BRE’s Green Book Live.

Achieving a u-value of as low as 0.8W/m2K, RECO22 also delivers significant energy and by implication CO2 savings in life.

Also available in a door framing eco option from Wrekin sister company and composite door specialist Permadoor, the system features a thin foiled finish and is available in a choice of wood grain and colour options.

John Williams, sales director Wrekin Windows, said: “RECO22 uses just six per cent of carbon in production as profile made from virgin material and can achieve u-values as low as 0.8W/m2K. It represents a real opportunity for the commercial sector to specify a product that is both low carbon in manufacture and low carbon in life.”

Swish Building Products, the Epwin Group’s specialist roofline business is also represented as part of a new combined group offer and will showcase its pioneering, ‘low CO2’, recycled PVC rainwater system.

Short-listed in Best Recycled Product category, the National Recycling Awards 2010, it brings tons of end of life material back into use rainwater and guttering profiles are manufactured from 84 per cent recycled material.
