Committed to the environment
Epwin supports Government and european initiatives to improve the sustainability
of building materials and encourages customers to take up end of life recycling
opportunities to close the loop.
Epwin introduced PVC-U windows to the UK in 1976, since when it became a vertically
integrated company with interests covering the complete lifecycle of its products,
from extrusion through to installation, to post-consumer recycling and re-processing
by the group facilities. Approximately 50% of all UK PVC-U window manufacturing
waste is recycled and reprocessed by the Group.
The Building Research establishment (BRE) has given PVC-U a reference service life
of 35 years. More impressively still, the British Standards Institute suggest that
this extends to in excess of 40 years when manufactured to accredited standards.
As a Group we are a signatory to vinyl 2010 and we are supporting a wide range of
community and industry initiatives.
Our recycling chain, from collection to reprocessing is designed to substantially
reduce our products carbon footprint.
